Our Story
Why Farm?
We (Matt and Jacques) were drawn to farming for many different reasons; the allure of working outdoors, and striving with and against nature - all in the hopes of providing for ourselves and families a better way of life. But it has turned into so much more.
We now seek to grow our crops in a way that is not only good for us, but good for the environment and for the health of everyone that consumes it. Instead of fighting against nature, we now work with it.
Always Learning
With the mechanical and fabrication skill of two aviation engineers Jacques and Matthias, there is no limitation to innovation.
One day it could be designing new processing machinery, another day experimenting with new soil management regimes, or observing key relationships between plants and soil biomes.
This approach requires keen attention to how domestic and native creatures that make up the farm’s biosphere enhance its yield.
For them both, creativity is limitless once one begins to observe the richness of natural systems and find ways to apply them to farming.
